Egipto O.A.T. de cortesía Guía de planificación de viajes de aventura
Commanding pyramids approaching the gods ... piercing obelisks adorned with hieroglyphs ... caravans of camels trudging through the ocher sand dunes: Egypt is a land of profound majesty and mystery, and a magnet for seekers of treasures, history buffs and adventure seekers. At its heart is the mighty Nile, a true desert oasis and the lifeblood of Egypt's enduring history and culture. The first settlers were drawn to its fertile shores in the 10th millennium BC, making Egypt one of the oldest nation states in the world. Over time, these early hunter-gatherers evolved into a formidable civilization ruled by pharaohs and marked by incredible prosperity. During their dynasties, these rulers left indelible marks on the Egyptian landscape. Along the Nile, tombs, temples, and monuments sprang up, and culture also flourished: writing, agriculture, and organized religion developed under the authority of the pharaohs.
But its power was fleeting. Egypt's prime location between Africa and Asia made it a target for the conquerors, beginning with the Persians in 343 BC. C. and followed by the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Ottomans and Europeans. Each of these rulers left their own mark (the Arabs, for example, transformed Egypt from a Christian to an Islamic country). However, none of these governments could undo the spell of the pharaohs; His influence is as deep now as it was millennia ago, and eager archaeologists and everyday Egyptians regularly discover relics from his reign.
In recent years, Egypt's ruling class has once again been in crisis: the Arab Spring toppled former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011, and his successor, Mohamed Morsi, was removed from power just two years later. Yet despite these unrest, there is one thing that Egypt's 100 million people can be sure of: that the ancient charm of their country will always endure.
